Because I am flat out broke, and it'll be awhile before I can get one. I want to start using XNA, but I just discovered that my video card is not compatible with XNA. Doesn't support pixel shading 1.1 or higher, and it's not a Direct3D9-level driver.

The computer I was trying to make the game on is ancient, used to be my grandmothers. It's a Dell Dimension 2400, and the only thing upgraded in it is the RAM.

So, anyone want to be nice?
Mine doesn't support pixel shading.
I totally would if I could, I know exactly what you're going through I just don't have any extra cards that support anything that recent. The only extra card I have is a 4MB AGP card that doesn't have any extra support for DX or Pixel Shading. My video chip (not card) didn't support jackcrap, either. I recently managed to get a $50.00 PCI card (no AGP or PCI-e here) that supports all of this stuff and it works well. I'd recommend it to you if you ever manage to get the money, unless of course you have AGP on that thing. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130289

And from personal experience XNA is AWESOME, I really hope you can get something worked out. Good luck, I feel your pain.
Thanks, Nadrew, I'll look into that.

Hmm..I wonder if I can take the video card out of my old XBox(not 360), and put that inside of this thing.
Dell Dimensions aren't that old. The one I'm on is a 2400 it just sucks major cow anus. And Dead_Demon I doubt you can do that with your XBox(not 360) The video card in it is just a chip which would be a bitch to solder out. But then again the Dell Dimension 2400's video card is on board so there's a possibility. Head out to http://xboxscene.com and ask some of them they may help.
I would if I could but I can't so I'm sorry.
Or just buy a good graphics card- you can get a geforce 8000 series for 70 quid and up.
