For the reccord, you're actually not allowed to have mobile phones in cinemas. If you go to a cinema, you take the risk of missing important phone calls. That's just the way it is. If you are that worried, don't go. That simple. Wait two months and rent the movie.


What Luddite made that law? Technology is not to blame for bad manners. Turn the ringer off before entering. Walk outside before answering. It's just like going to get popcorn or going to the bathroom.
I've never heard of any such law, but the cinema owner is well within their rights to require that if they wish.

As you say, though, it's totally unnecessary. People having the phones isn't the problem, it's people being dorkwads that's the problem.
