Okay so some of you guys have seen the war system before. In GOA its going to play a bigger role soon. Basically Wars are automated every 2 hours, each village gets 100 lives and its Battlefield 1942 style. Once your out of spawns your team loses.

Every kill you get in a war gives you a faction point. Future systems of ranks that are on the way will use these points to take the top certain percentiles to make them Jounin and Anbu.

Heres a little example of how crazy and fun the wars are. (despite the fact that i keep getting owned at my OWN game).

I suck ass at compressing things like this, so its very noisy. Also the damn screen recorder was causing my pc to lag at points. Anyway, its fun to watch the owner get served.
Yea i like to kill you Masterdan Though mist is getting Lonely without buster >_> I elect myself mizukage =O or nevermind anyway it was a hella lot of fun i Ratoned your Ass while you got beat up by my bunshins though! am i still hardcore?

I think you better learn what words mean before you throw them around like that.

Hmm, nobody has actually ever really made a serious argument that GOA is a rip. Because its an absolute joke. Prey tell, who am i ripping?
Should add fun to game, I have done something similar with guilds in which you can declare war on another guild and each player gets 3 lives and points are given to the guild depending on deaths / kills ect. Although to be honest I still find your game to be a bit boring as many of the other Nartuo games out there (most of hwich are the same). Even though you say no level grinding what it really comes down to is using up your health and chakra to level grind :p

Yeah but you dont gain experience if you grind. You have to actually be fighting people and such. Besides this is what im aiming for in the future. Ranks and factionpoints to force people to work together and accomplish objectives.

Of course GOA has missions too in which you can do in teams which are pvp and match up to other villages missions to keep things interesting.
Experience Grind (Haku Type):
-Go into dojo
-Use water field (uses chakra)
-Set down copy (uses chakra)
-Shuushin ontop of copy (uses chakra)
-Use ice needles on copy (causes health damage)
-Use ice explosion (uses chakra)
-Wait for regain to finish
Rinse and repeat

You can do it with others as well jut using jutsu over and over, guess you could say its jutsu training rather than log training :P

But yeah having actual player/team involvedment does enhance gameplay by actually add thought process into playing not to mention that creating a competitive enviroment makes it even better

No but the thing is theres 5 things the game checks when it gives you level points when regenerating. Basically it makes sure your not doing THAT, you have to be meeting new people on a regular basis, you need to be using a different set of jutsus, you need to me moving location wise. You cant stay in a dojo for too long and theres other safeguards too. Basically you cant grind, i made it so you literally wont get away with it for more than a few minutes.

Was that recent ? Becuase I went from like lvl 10 - 18 in a few hours or so doing the process I listed without interuption from safeguards ect. 1.0 of GOA i guess

It was implemented for beta launch, but revised to be more stringent recently.
Calgary sucks, Edmonton wins.
Looked alright. It was sort of ironic to see people using the same unavoidable sword shushining method, which i hope is tweaked so you can actually AVOID it.
The idea sounds awesome but you should try to confine them to an instance. Just an idea but you should never have something like this take over regular gameplay, assuming of course that it does.

By the way, what screen capture device do you use?
Sounds like a mix of Battlefield 1942 and Guild Wars.

You should add different modes as well, such as a form of capture the flag.

The wars happen every 2 hours and occur on a seperate playing field than the main game. Uhm the recording device i used was cam studio. I recorded at 15 frames per second and then imported it into flash which reduced the filesize further. Ive yet to find an overly effective way of doing gameplay videos though.

I would LOVE to do capture the flag.

So far we Have:
Team Deathmatch (1 life, Counterstrike style)
Team Score Match (BF1942 style)

I want to add FFA (Deathmatch)
Capture the "Scroll" (CTF, with teams.)

Capture the Scroll would be capture the flag but you get points per second you have it in your possession.

Wars just sort of are a way to make being good at the game have a short term clear cut objective.
One question: If the game is so laggy without the wars, how laggy do you think it will be once you get into a war?

The lag isnt cpu lag. The war wouldnt add any lag to the server at all. (That fact comming from the cpu profiler, there is no trace of what causes the server to slowdown)

What does that mean? well it seems the high level of object creations/deletions, alerts and inputs (in the tutorial mostly) and client connects and disconnects cause byond some serious grief.

Anyway im working on the lag issue, some have suggested using html windows instead of alerts.. Not a bad idea, ithink i should rethink the entire tutorial though and find a more suitable substitution for inputs instead.
