Colleges still look at your PSAT score, as long as you don't check the box that doesn't allow them to, no matter what grade you're in. You can take the (P)SATs whenever you want. Often times the brighter kids in middle school will take it to compare to the seniors.

I hit an 1900 my freshman year, I'm taking it on Saturday. Hopefully I get a scholastic merit reward, because as a sophomore I took it and got a 2000 which is like 1% off the merit reward.
