I have been watching the news, the Hurricane Katrina situation in New Orleans. The whole situation makes my stomache turn, but the main thing that makes me want to vomit, and make me look down on America as one of the lowest social status country in the entire World. The Looters. Thieves. I have been watching on the news people just STEALING stuff in the complete chaos, and they think it's okay! Okay, I can understand if it's food. Thats survival but computers, jewels, valuables. It makes me SICK! They need to be removed from the gene-pool and unable to breed. Someone needs to cut off their way of breeding. These people are horrible, they don't care. They live day to day not even have a damn care about the entire world. If the world was post-apocoliptic you can tell these people would rob people, steal, and form gangs instead of help rebuild society. These people need to be executed, they are just going to breed if they survive and create more SCUM that is going to steal. The news guy went into a flooded store, and there was this black guy taking beer out of the store, so when the guy came out he asked him, "Do you think it's okay to take that? You just Stole that." and the dumb mother****er replies, "who" when he's the only one around for a long while in abandoned sections of the city. God they should have just fed that guy cyanide through a syringe. It just makes me SICK, and they keep doing it.

I agree. I could easily steal from tons of people around me and afar, and get away with it... but do I do it, even in hard times? No. Because that would make me a lowlife, and I personally like to have my own sweat and blood be what gives me rewards.

Something I want to know, why are no other countries helping us? We always help other countries when they are needy. But no one else helps us. Not even on 9-11. And not now.

It's because we have the capability to help. But, there are several other modern that COULD be helping us.

We're all sat here, laughing at the mess. Thats why we aint helping. Sadly, the quicker the downfall of america, the quicker the rest of us can rise up. This isnt going to help the oil price, but it sure has slowed down america, they might have to start relying on Chinese imports, now that would be funny.
About the looting, america is no better than any other country. When stocks are low, or when you know you can get away with it, people steal. | |
New Orleans is hardly in comparison to foreign disasters. Plus, there is probably about twice what you hear about on the news going on in the world.
Another thing: We are hardly crippled by this. We can easily handle this ourselves. Of course it's still a disaster, but we don't really need form of foreign support. | |

I was entering my house when a black guy riding on a bike stops and asks me if he can have a pear from my tree. I tell him no, go inside and peer out my front window to see him getting back on his bike with three pears, one of them he is eatting. I knew he would take some. Why did I bother to say "no"? Well were here sitting on ours asses watching you guys suffer. Why? Well it's what we do. Reason? I don't know, maybe it's because many americans treat us like crap. Now I'm not saying all americans are like that, actually most of the americans that are my friends actually prefer Canada from America. But enough with the off topic from me. It's most likely though that us Canadians are too busy helping eachother right now. We don't have to give our own time to help others ALL the time. | |
Tracy, you gotta understand it from THEIR point of view. People going through that kind of life disaster, peoples homes getting ruined, family getting killed, LIVES being ruined, they resort to a lot of things that they never would imagine doing. Everything is falling apart for those people, some people just can't take it so they snap. Don't just bias your opinion towards things without realizing what they're actually going through.

So a few poor people stealing beer and TVs is worse than a man who sent 1800 loyal soldiers to their death or a government who has stolen billions of US surplus dollars or oil corporations stealing from every US family? Gotcha. Since they are poor blacks, kill them.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but the cruelty and viscious anger I have seen directed at these suffering people because of a few bad apples strikes me as callous and naive considering US activities of late (are people crying for the Iraqi civillian casualties?). You know, there probably wouldn't have been near the level of problems if emergency response had acted more quickly. There is no reason that National Guard shouldn't be on the scene after Katrina passed. But both the Fed and LA state governments dropped the ball, so this is what you get. It's not unusual- human beings do terrible things all the time. That's why we *have* governments- to protect the citizenry from domestic and foreign threats. Don't worry about the criminals- in comparison to the number of people not engaging in such acts, the are likely a tiny minority. Most people were scared, tired, hungry, and thirsty. Worry about systems that let such situations happen and why nothing is being done about them. 9/11 showed us that we were unprepared for disaster. Five years later we still aren't. Why? It would seem easy to blame a president who would rather stare at a children's book or play golf then get to work, but that fails to mention that the citizenry has demanded no better. We have bigger problems than beer thieves.... | |

Ok, sorry Fizzy :-) I think pretty much every nation in the world offered help/condolences on 9/11; many offered military support to fight terrorists.

I agree that there is no excuse for much of the looting, but I would be willing to bet some of it was food/water looting and some was for barter for food and water. The important thing to remember, though, is that there were half a million people or more trapped there and the looters represented only a miniscule fraction of that amount. If we estimate that the worst 1% would engage in looting, that would be an expected 5,000 looters, So far, the actual number seems far less.
