Well, that's just the current administration. America's citizens are not so callous and no doubt remembered how badly tragedy hurts from 9/11. Americans piled up donations with offers for assistance and the American Red Cross was quick to act, just as they were in New Orleans.
It's the federal government that's been the weak link for about five years now.

I'm twenty, I was in highschool not to long ago. When I heard on the news, the police shot the people carying guns around in New Orleans. I was just Fuck yeah! I hope you shot them in the legs first, then their head so they could feel the excruciating pain!

There are people holding hospitols up and threatening to shoot Docters if they didn't give them narcotics, SCUM. Sorry, I always grew up in violence. I attended crappy schools and I had to learn to defend myself even kill to protect myself or my family. It has made me somewhat defensive and violent when it comes to my welfare and others.

Ironic, isn't it how violence begets violence? I suppose that's why societies quickly figured out that a systematic method of justice is necessary to maintain stability. But when those societal bonds crumble, the selfish animal emerges.
Now if we learn to look at *why* the bonds fail and why our leaders let them, we see it is precisely because of their selfish shortsighted nature and actions. In other words, the very things we try to prevent ends up bringing the system down. What strange little creatures we are! | |
