I had to get my Wisdom Teeth cut, not pulled, cut from my jaw earlier today.
And cripes, does it hurt.
Can anybody suggest a medication stronger than Vicaden, because that crap ain't cuttin' it.

Wow, hope my wisdom teeth don't act that lame..They were hurting a few months ago though..0_0 Oh yeah, hope part of your mouth doesn't become paralyzed either..x.x

I was lucky, for some odd reason I never grew a 4th wisdom tooth, and only had to have 3 pulled. The really bad pain should stop after a few days or so, and you'll get the weird numb-like pain for a while.
Of course it will hurt a lot when you go to eat/drink, or wash your mouth out with salt water to keep it clean. Then after it stops hurting after a few days (or weeks if you're unlucky) it's all squishy and feels weird. |
Vicaden is used for post-surgery, so if that isn't cutting it for you; there's something wrong. Anything stronger than that is like impossible to get over the counter legally. So good luck with that.

Why are you telling me about your teeth hurting? Because I love you, durr. Hmm...well, my mouth isn't hurting so much now, except that I seem to have a small case of lockjaw. Yay. |
'Vicodin', or Hydrocodone and paracetamol,
is used to manage pain. It is most commonly prescribed for mild to moderate pain relief associated from acute, chronic, or post operative pain... It can become addicting, too, but your pain is leaving, so you should be good. |
Hmm, I'm not sure if the recommendations should differ since you had yours cut out but for me, the following was true:
* Live on a diet of soft food for a few days, if not a week. A prime example and what I did was nothing but McDonald's milkshakes for a few days. * Just sleep, your mouth needs time to heal and you're gonna be lethargic anyways so use this time to catch up on sleep if you are sleep deprived. I slept on average 10-14 hrs/day after my wisdom teeth got pulled. * Under no circumstances, do NOT spit out the semi-dry, gooey blood (Or as the Doctor called it, Strawberry Jam) in your mouth. It is part of the healing process and getting rid of it too soon can lead to dry sockets which I myself suffered in one corner of my mouth. |
