I've never been a great appreciator of literature. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't NOT appreciate it, but I don't exactly go out my way to read lots of "good" books or lots of poetry or anything. I more or less just let things come to me.

But one day, I was searching on Google for something quite random when I came across what appeared to be some sort of article on this guy's ex-girlfriends. It was 3 AM, I was alone and bored, so obviously, intrigued, I opened it. And the stuff on there was actually quite funny and interesting. I've never really seen authors catch my interest when I read, I more or less read because I either have to or because the topic is interesting - not because of the quality of the written work. But with this guy, it was different. Not only were the stories interesting, I actually wanted to read more. Having gone through almost every post of his, I'm now a fan of his and I just thought I'd share it with anyone still bored enough to be reading this.

I like stories about his kids the most. These ones, in no particular order, are my favourites though:

Father Shut-In
My Daughter and My Penis
Gay Marriage: So What?
Confessions of a Sexual Pervert
Kids and Death
"Daddy? Who's God?"
My Daughter Won't Shut Up
Boys Are Not Girls
My Son Has Found His Penis
Pretty interesting. He reminds me a bit of that American teacher writing about his experiences teaching in Japan.
*Looks it up*

I haven't read any of them in years, but some of the oldest ones were funny as hell.
If you like to read things written by an author that truly writes interesting pieces, try picking up a book by Malcolm Gladwell. He's become one of my favorite authors with "Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking" and "The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference"---two books that really make you think while keeping you immersed in his perspective of things.

He has a neat little site you can check out, if you'd like.
