As you can, I am making the ki attack charges all transparent, aswell as some ki attacks. The auras in the game have also been made transparent, and they look as if they came right out of the anime. I am also going to use the transparencies to make an after image effect in which the icon will blur and fade out at the same time.

DBO2 will also feature a night and day feature using transparencies. Any questions you all have feel free to ask.

(yes i know i posted this on the anime guild aswell)
That looks really well done, I look forward to the release of DBO2. :)
WHEN DOS DBO T[WO COME OUT?
No announced release date yet, sorry.
looks, very, very, nice
well done.
CAN I PLAY IT PLEASE?
You might want to be careful with all of these transparencies, if BYOND will react any similar to the way flash does, you might just lag out the majority of your players for some over-the-top features that aren't necessary.

The beams of light do look very nice however.

As I understand it, since the transparencies are created in the dmi file itself, it would be stored as such and therefore loaded into the rsc file as an icon. I don't think there would be any extra CPU cycles or anything to do with transparencies. Also I don't know why BYOND would treat transparency the same as flash does. It doesn't seem like it does at least.
Then again, this is all new to me and anything is possible, so you could very well be right. I guess we'll see when the time comes.
That's really freakin awesome
heh, nifty.
Since when were ki beams transparent? The charging thing makes sense though.

The beams wont be fully transparent, I was thinking some attacks like Tri Beam could be alittle transparent.

Ki beams are made of energy, so it makes sense that they'd be transparent (at least partially)... The only reason they weren't in the show is lack of effort by the animators...lol

Actually, now that I think about it, they were pseudo-transparent... You could often see people when they were engulfed in them (for instance, the many cases where they'd show a bad guy disintegrating inside of one)

But yeah, ki beams should be transparent...
Sweeeeeeet, i havent even begun to dabble with transparancy yet, but o boy im going to now ive seen that sweet effect.. hee hee

Well, no.... It's not like any of us have ever seen energy.

Yeah, fair enough.
Looks good guys. :)

What do you mean? We "see" energy everyday, all day... Light is energy... Heat is energy... And guess what? They're all transparent! lol We don't see the energy itself, but rather, we see the effect it has on the matter around us...

It should be no different for Ki energy, which is likely not much more than a combination of light and heat...
PLX I WANNA BLAY IT PLEASE
