Angry Rant 4.0

I hate it. I hate it alot. I'm not sure why I hate it so much. Unless you count all the reasons I hate it. I hate 4.0


I am beginning to see a pattern of dislike for 4.0


I guess majorly it stems from how far we're getting from 3.0. 3.0 was the greatest version ever. I miss my Hub. I miss being able to search through Published and Non-Published for games. I guess I'm just a conservative at heart. (Shiver)

But it was a simpler time then. Simpler and BETTER!


But what are my real reasons? The layout issues, everything is screwed up. Especially for BTG. If you don't know me, BTG is the one thing I've manage to toss in for fun in my life. I need hobbies. I know this.

It's wierd. Simple as that. I dunno. It's odd to run off OpenGL. The whole pre-loader for joining a game throws me off. Apparently Daemons better, but I never used it. NO POINTS FOR THAT!

Lack of a user preference. I hate the default font and size.


That's all for now. Burn in the firey pits of oblivion 4.0.

Gasp. What an obvious solution. However I need to play a few games already set up for the game. It's all good.

Just don't use OpenGL. Theres an option to turn it off in Prefs.

Pager -> File -> Prefferences -> Style

Do people ever stop complaining? First people start complaining about 4.0 won't come out, then when it does they complain about it. It will take time to get use to. Remember when Blogs (which removed pager from non members) and the Official Guild system came out, everyone disliked it since it is a change from normal, now no one cares.

HOLY CRAP! GUYS! THIS WAS NOT A SERIOUS COMPLAINT! I WAS JOKING! I dislike 4.0 but it was primarily satirical.

But I'll address you all anyway.

Mechana, my problem with OpenGL was that I had to go update my Vista drives. ;_;

Akiyo, essentially yeah. If you used Byond Tabletop Gaming you'd understand my problem. But Shadowdarke is apparently working on that.

you fail to realize that 4.0 opens the door to make BYOND capable of being the platform of really truly amazing games. OpenGL use means we might see new graphic techniques in the future. I remember when GraalOnline adopted OpenGL, at first all it did was allow you to stretch your screen to fullscreen mode and zoom in and out. However soon after all sorts of special lighting effects started surfacing and the entire game got pretty intense.

I should probably mention I play text games primarily huhn? : P

Oh and I didn't fail to realize. I simply didn't care. Though it is interesting to see what those DB/Naruto/Bleach games will do with advanced graphics. : P (Light-hearted sarcasm)
