For the past couple of years, my sister (a professional model -- a few of you may be familiar with her work from various Chatters sessions) has been telling me I should try getting into the whole model business, but it's never really jumped out at me.
Out of sheer boredom (and curiousity), I created a profile on a model website which my sister frequents, with just a single picture which her husband (professional photographer) took of me. A couple of days later, I'm being contacted by a photographer based out of Austin, saying he's interested. He has a solid portfolio and pays $75 to $150 an hour, plus provides pictures to use in my portfolio. Who knew it'd be so easy to literally pay the bills with your good looks!

Comparing this to the post a couple down... it's amazing what can be done with some makeup and lighting. ;-)

It was just snapped at a party at my brother in law's house. So in that picture I actually had my hair done, and I was actually having a good time (smiling). The one a couple down was a snap from my low quality webcam with messy hair, for the sheer purpose of editing the eyes like that. :P |
Cool. Are you anywhere near Austin? It's a neat place with an active arts scene (everything from music to photography and film to painting). I recommend you check it out if you get the chance!

Yeah, I go to Austin quite a bit. 6th street is a bit too crazy for me, but it's definitely a good place for artists. |
That's good money, my cousin is a model but she doesn't roll in that much bank even though she full time with it.
