Country is an industrial nation of approximately thirty million to five hundred million people of several different ethnic groups and religions. It encompasses an area of millions of football fields, and has between 0% and 100% coastline. It features sunny days, rainy days, foggy days, and snowy days as its principal climate. It is on good diplomatic relations with most of its neighbours and is well known for its high quality of life and relatively safe environment.
Vehicles in Country drive on one of the sides of the road and obey the posted speed limits which are stated in the commonly-used Measurement System. Various laws exist to protect Countrians who drive on the roads. Crime Prevention and Law Enforcement Officers (CPLEOs) are responsible for upholding the traffic laws and writing citations for transgressions against the laws; such transgressions are called "Moving Violations". Foremost among these moving violations are Driving When Under Influence (DWUI) and Speeding, which together account for the extreme majority of fatal accidents in all of Country.
As an industrial nation, Country has many laws intended to protect its citizens, and the police forces of Country maintain common safety and order. Such police forces include: federal police organisations like the Office of Federal Crime Investigation (OFCI) and the Enforcement Bureau Against Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Guns, Explosives, and Bad Things (EBADATGEBT); various regional police organisations such as the Territory Regional Troopers (TRT); and municipal police forces like the The City Police Department (TCPD).
When a person commits a felony or is believed to have committed a felony, a Crime Prevention and Law Enforcement Officer is responsible for investigating the crime and—once sufficient evidence is gathered—levying a charge on behalf of Country; such a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty, but is arrested and remanded into police custody once formally charged. There, the person stands trial and their guilt or innocence in each charge is determined by a jury of Countrians selected by random lottery who are screened to eliminate unfair bias. If found guilty, a person can be required to pay a fine, serve a jail sentence, or both—if a person cannot pay a fine, they are given a jail sentence and must labour in prison to pay off their debt to society.
The most important laws of Country are in the Constitution of Country, which protects citizens from oppressive government behaviour, including wrongful imprisonment. The Constitution guarantees people have the freedom to go anywhere on public land in Country, and also guarantees that they have the right to say whatever they like, that they have the right to believe in anything they like, and that they may do anything they like if it does not interfere with any of the laws. Countrians also have the right to a fair trial by jury and the right not to be charged more than once for the same crime if found innocent by a jury, even if they are in fact guilty of the crime.
What if the Leader decides the quietly change a countries constitution to fit his needs? On top of that, what it the citizens of that country either do not realize that he is doing it (they are distracted by the latest celebrity DUI), or think that the president is protecting the country from "evil-doers" and therefore he has the right to change it?
Just a hypothetical situation.
