Why is the entitlement system hurting America?
Why are the poor and middle classes suffering while the rich benefit?
How does the Federal Reserve "print" gold?
Why is the dollar constantly losing value?

Click the link below to see a 45-minute one-on-one interview with Ron Paul regarding monetary policy. I encourage you to watch the video and post your comments + debate your views.

Ron Paul quotes from this interview:

"If you have a privately minted silver ounce and you tried to transact a business transaction with it, you can go to jail. You're breaking the law. And yet the Constitution says gold and silver are legal tender."

"We fail to look at the guide - not only is it a guide for us and advice for us - it's the law of the land. It's the rule of law. It's the Constitution."

"As long as the people think they're getting something - stuff - and not worrying so much about their freedoms, they're going to tolerate the system. And the point is, should we try to correct it right now or should we wait?"

"Entitlements do not satisfy the best interests of the people. [An entitlement system] eventually destroys a country. So it's the understanding of economic policy which is in the best interests of all of us."

"[Congress is] dealing in a corrupt system, where they're transferring wealth back and forth, and that's their job. And the better they transfer this wealth from somebody else who's paying the taxes to their district... that's the sign of an effective congressman. It's a system that is corrupt and invites a lot of abuse."

"People will recognize that hard work is an honorable thing to do, and we have to work to maintain a standard of living. And it means also that we're going to pull in our horns. We won't pretend that we can tell other people how to live and that we're going to take democracy [abroad] ... and we're expending lives and hundreds of billions of dollars to go over there and tell the Iraqi people how they're going to live? That's going to end. It's going to end not because of great wisdom gravitating to Washington. It's going to end because we're going to run out of our wealth and the entitlement system will be declared bankrupt."

"When you have this right to print money, you produce big government, and government does the wrong things, always at the expense of individual liberties."

"Spending is a tax, because if you don't tax the people directly you tax them indirectly through inflation."

Mike Maloney:

"You know, to be honest with you, I usually don't like or trust politicians, and for some reason there's an exception here, and it's because of your stance and because you're willing to say things that the rest of them aren't."
OBAMA
Can *I* vote for Ron Paul?
Elation, you're welcome to vote for anyone you like, including Ron Paul.

BigBoiD, I sincerely hope you have a reason for supporting Obama other than "He's a nice guy." or "He's black." If you don't understand the issues (which I have to assume since you didn't post a comment on the interview or any sort of debate), then all you're really doing is hurting everyone else by voting in a popularity contest. Had you actually watched the interview that I posted, you would see that big-government, big-spending, entitlement-based programs are actually hurting the U.S. in the long run. Of course they seem to help in the short run and make candidates more appealing to voters, but in the long run, they WILL ruin our economy.

Elation is in the UK. He's not voting for anyone for United States President.

I'm looking more into Obama now. As of now, he's my [very uneducated, as of now] choice, simply because of his stance on subjects such as net neutrality. And I mean, come on, this guy asked to have debates released under the Creative Commons license! He just seems like the "open source" candidate.

I have a number of reasons for supporting him. He's been my prime candidate from the get go.
So is this account like... sponsored by Ron Paul or are you just some random political activist?
Some random political activist byonder.

Too bad Ron Paul is a strict libertarian, and doesn't support Net Neutrality. If it gets killed off, the US is going to be hurting pretty badly in a few years, and fall even more behind the rest of the developed world.
I think his stance on Net Neutrality is widely misunderstood. Net Neutrality is no more neutral than the Patriot Act is patriotic*. Watch his interview on G4's "The Loop", with a major focus on the internet and media, for more information.

another video: Ron Paul addresses Congress about regulating the Internet http://youtube.com/watch?v=6b7_h_OyTI0
(This is in regard to Internet gambling, but you can see his stance on Internet regulation.)

CNET News.com rates him #1 in Congress for his voting record on issues relating to the Internet:

He votes against issues like Net Neutrality because he doesn't want to concede that the government should have any regulatory powers over the Internet whatsoever.

I'm a "random political activist" who's spending his own time and money to spread the word.

* - As one YouTuber puts it, "You do understand that Net Neutrality is not 'Save the Internet', it's 'Regulate the Internet the way the government wants it to', right?" http://youtube.com/watch?v=NNBk5dJQQOQ
