Installing Ubuntu

DarkD3vil666	I currently have Windows XP. I've got the "Live CD" of Ubuntu on a blank CD now and it says to leave it in the drive and restart the computer. I've done that but nothing happens. Can anyone give me the steps of installing it once you have it on a CD?

Elation	Here's the real secret: Linux doesn't exist. All the 'linux users' are just in on the big joke. They all laugh whenever someone tries to install it and fails, then the hapless victim joins the linux gang (I know this from my FreeBSD days. But I don't roll with them no more, G.).

Flame Sage	Did you already instal Ubuntu? What setup option did you choose? You probably overwrote your Windows partition. (Which isn't really Ubunu's fault, it doesn't seem like you did your research before installing.)

Man, maybe if you geniuses didn't push linux like it's the fucking savior, people wouldn't get tricked into thinking it's godlike software and won't just put in a CD that you tell them is amazing and solve all their problems?

Deleting your windows partition is some pretty shitty fine print.

Flame Sage	Whoah. Calm down. Putting in the CD doesn't INSTALL Ubuntu, it's guided through steps, which are pretty much explain themselves. I do feel for him though.

DarkD3vil666	Yeah, I erased all my files or the partition, whicxh after installing, I figured out is where your files are stored. So now I got nothing, but the internet works faster. Oh well.
