So I'm a little bit bored at work, and I figured I would give something new a go. I'm running Firefox 3.0 Alpha 5 right now(Alpha 6 is due out later today, the first beta next month).

So far, I'm impressed. It might be that 90% of my extensions got disabled, but it seems to be going much, much faster. Pages load half the time. I wish two copies of Firefox could be run at the same time, because I would love to do a side-by-side of 2 and 3.

Visually, it looks exactly the same. I guess they have already done all the major changes to the interface with 1 to 2, so no need to change more.

Running the Acid2 CSS test, it passed 100%(Something Firefox 2 doesn't do very well). So I'm always for more CSS support.

So, paint me impressed. Faster rendering, higher CSS support, and the same great interface. Firefox 3 is going to be a great addition to the foxy line.

P.S. On a side note, I'm running Firefox 3 as a portable app. The way to do it is download 3, install normally, then download and install firefox 2 portable on your jump drive. Go into X:/PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Apps\firefox\ delete the contents, then replace them with the contents of C:\Program Files\Gran Paradiso\. After that, you can run it using the "FirefoxPortable.exe" program one folder up. Please note that Gran Paradiso is the current alpha's name, when Alpha 6 comes out, it will likely have another name, so the folder will be different.
How did you get Firefox 3? All I can find it Firefox 2.0.0.4 or something along the lines of that, which is what I currently use.
I've just searched and I've found Gran Paradiso. Is that Firefox 3.0 Alpha 1? It looks exactly the same and I can't tell if it works faster. I'm not even sure if thats it.
Gran Paradiso is the alpha name. All of them are called that. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/3.0a5/releasenotes/ is the current alpha.

But later today alpha 6 is supposed to be released.
Runs great, theres a few small issues with images not coming together correctly or a few spacing issues; but other than that it's way faster.
I never notice the spacing issues. I would actually switch my home browser to the alpha, but one very important extension doesn't work, mouse gestures.
Heh I noticed that it didn't I got a bit bummed out; but it doesn't bother me too much.
Well, I love the mouse gestures. I've got to the point where I attempt them in everything from explorer to notepad! If I'm not mistaken, it isn't hard to force an extension to be used, but I'm not sure what sort of bugs I would spawn.
