A first 'real' posting I suppose.
I was introduced to BYOND roughly, three weeks ago by another community to the wonderful, heavily flawed, Space Station 13. Unfortunately, it has gone some time without any updates, nor does it look good on the horizon that it will receive any.
BYOND seems like a pretty neat engine for creative work, and I hope to eventually play with making something myself.
(If you're here because you heard about a project of mine, I've no plans to distribute it whatsoever, please do not ask)

Do you have any sort of degree? No, I am currently attending college alongside my freelance programming work. |
He's going to have a Ph.D.
Slurm is my idol. :O this CSS is playing tricks with my eyes btw. The Name header and the background correlate into this wicked thing that's awesome. =3 |
I heard you can make a disassembler in BYOND. Is reading binary some kind of incredibly complex task in DM or is there something I'm overlooking?

Is there any way to get your program? I would like to revive a dead game with the help of the new games staff. We don't have the current version of the game and found a really old version. Just need the coding to add the new things to it and keep going.

Just need the coding to add the new things to it and keep going. Isn't that past the ethical bounds? Trying to steal someone work, "make it better" and release it in your name? Why don't you make a "Remake" if that game or your own. The new game staff should be able to produce a game without needing the previous source. Or at least ask the original owner for the source... and if he/she doesn't have it... well, your new team should be able to develop something... |
I'm not going to call it my own. The person that made the game will get their own credit. Many have tried to contact the owner to get it. But the owner lost the source and stopped playing. We have a old version that is most of the times up and running just it would be easier to start where he left off and add our changes.
