Gaah what happened to my favorites in my FireFox browser? I turn on my computer, and FireFox acts as if it were downloaded for the first time, and my favorites are wiped out!

And just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse after I get food poisoned...

What do I need to do to get my favorites back, if I can?
You think YOUR FF is acting up!? Mine won
't show any dloads or how long they have to finish or how much progress has been dloaded!

That's just a matter of how you or someone else set your options...

You could always ctrl-J, or go to
Tools -> Options
Click the main tab, and make sure the checkbox that says "Show Downloads when downloading a file" is checked
nope, it does not show its allll blank dummy head!
Firefox randomly did that for me too. But then I found Foxmarks and it hasn't happened since.

Basically what it does is, copies your bookmarks to an FTP server and syncs them so you never lose anything.

There are several benefits of using this, them being:
1) Don't lose your bookmarks
2) Have the same bookmarks on multiple computers
3) If you ever have to reinstall FireFox, then you won't have to worry about your bookmarks

You can get an FTP account from the people that make it, but if you don't like the idea of someone else hosting your bookmarks you can provide your own.

Awesome, I will look into it!
Thanks!

Firefox also lost my bookmarks once. Thankfully, I use the Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks.../->File->Export... option on a semi-frequent basis, so I had an up-to-date backup to restore from, and it's only ever lost my bookmarks once.

I imagine the loss is a result of the existing bookmarks file becoming corrupted during a program crash while the bookmarks are being written to.
