Wargames 2 testing will probably start tonight or tomorrow. Those that are testing, it will be rather informal, so there isn't any commitment about how often you should be on, although as much as possible would be preferred. I do ask though that you fill out "questionnaire" style feedback to ensure development goes smoothly and for the benefit of players, as well as your suggestions - which may or may not be followed up on.

When there is sufficient game play, I will put a download up for beta testers to try out on their own time (I particularly would like the map generator tested out as much as possible) but until then I'll host, usually in the afternoon-night. Right now, the first "Prehistoric" age is all there is. This is a very restrictive age, I'm only planning 2 units so far (Caveman and Darter), and there is no government settings or buildings to place. Towns also don't grow, and you can't build workers who will be able to terraform, or settlers to build more towns.

In the second age (Stone age) which should be open sometime at the weekend, Workers can be built, towns can grow, you'll learn useful techs like walls, basic shipping, Archery etc. The third age, the Copper age which maybe in at the weekend or early next week, will be able to open up the doors by letting you build settlers for more towns, as well as opening up government functions.

Testing Ages step by step will help develop the game and find out what works well and what doesn't. "Backlagging" will also be an important feature to test out: It will be able to set some kind of technological back line where a player advancing through ages first may have to pay for other players upgrades if they are very far behind.

The kind of inbuilt win conditions will be things like this:

Conquest: Basic one player wins by taking out each other player.
Colonisation Race: One "country" or "alliance" wins by defeating all others.
Territory Race: A set goal in which a player or alliance wins via holding a % of the map.
Technology Race: A set goal in which a player wins by advancing through all available technologies.
Age Race: A set goal in which a player wins by advancing to the last possible age available.

Example of Menu's: They will be drop down box form. From the left going right: Government Menu (will hold little information in first few ages) / Research Menu (showing "Darts" currently) / Building Menu (none in first age) / Unit menu (showing Caveman)

There is also this one of the "Game Options" screen:

Brilliant. I look forward to testing it!
