It started as a really old game of mine that my friend Stimulus had the files to, I gave him permission to take it over and remake it but somehow I got pulled into it with an enormous amount of inspiration. It's a Dragonball Z game of course (one of mine from around 5-6 years ago) that I completely gutted, redrew and reprogrammed to the point of being an entirely new game.
I'm not going to say much more about the game just yet, but I wish to share my combat system right now in a handful of screen caps.
( When beams collide, players and mobiles enter a beam-battle competition )
( The NPC tries to blast me with a beam, but I quickly warp behind him, leaving him firing at my after image )
( Movement-based attacks build up momentum, which I use in the form of a hammer-attack that sends my opponent flying )
( I think I have the upper hand when he starts to dodge my melee attacks )
( Not fast enough however, as I was able to grab him )
Well that was a fun session, but in the end I eventually won, which is a 1/3 chance against these guys ... But no worries, the normal NPCs won't have access to every attack in the game like these ones.
Edit: And in case you're wondering, the maps will not be that plain. The ones you see in the next few caps will be of a simple test map I created in order to test features a little easier.
Good job!
