Let me tell you one thing right now- they are truly *the* animal that can be described as having a child's (primitive, reptilian) mind stuck in an adult's body. They're fussy. They're easily distracted. If they can't do something (whether you keep stopping them or they just physically can't do it), they won't care- they'll continue to try anyway.
If they see you doing something they want to do it too. Playing out in the sun makes them hyper. They are always grumpy. Charging around their territory and trying to climb out and escape is just an everyday thing for them. They're always falling over. Biting their brother in the face *then* trying to mate with him is again, just a normal everyday activity.
They are literally mental. They have those little old grumpy faces and the little cute pink tongues they use as they munch down on a strawberry or tasty leaf, but that won't stop them dropping it all for a taste of human toe (right now they're not big enough to really injure skin, just nip it- but they've drawn blood on each other before).
They're pretty intelligent, mind. Seriously, they try and climb (and sometimes even succeed in this endeavour) *everywhere*. They're usually good with drops though- we've had them on tables before and they'll look off the edge and think "-or not.".
They don't soil their own sleeping area either (It's a box with cut up paper in) and even though they don't always get on (read below), they still go to sleep in the same box.
We have two, brothers. They like to headbutt eachother, bite eachother, and mount eachother. My dad thinks they're frustrated... we could either solve that by giving them a bigger place to run about in, or a female or two. At my mum's they have a fairly good place to live, though. The only problem is that it's concrete, so their poo and wee doesn't really wash away all that well. I clean it up, but it's gross.
They eat all sorts of things. They can be pretty fussy about food- some stuff they never touch, they just kind of hiss and look in the other direction- and some stuff they'll eat sometimes, but other times reject. Sometimes you can be feeding them stuff by hand and they won't be having any of it- deop it on the floor and they'll tuck in immediately. They like things like dandelion leaves, japanese bindweed- also stuff like brocolli, strawberries... it's a good idea to give them lots of stuff and work out what they like best.
They can be pretty cute, mind:
