Well I did what I thought was the last step of my epic mount questing in WoW today, when I come to find out it wasn't.
Up to now I've spent a good sum of 400 gold on materials and quests for this epic mount for a warlock, got a group together for this level 60 dungeon and did the quest there. I thought this step was the last phase in getting this damn horse when bam, I get to the questgiver and find I have to spend another 250 gold on mats, find a group for another level 60 dungeon, get to the bottom of it and do a ritual "just right"... What kind of garbage is this?
If I knew how much of a pain this little quest was, I would've saved my gold and simply bought an epic mount for a little less than I actually spent on this one (not to mention time consumption)... It's not even fun anymore, it's just me grinding gold in order to get a horse that will be replaced in a few levels by a bird. I've lost almost all passion in playing warcraft right now, I might take a bit of a break from it.
I finally found the one horrible thing about this class (aside from having a majority of ugly equipment)

Do you still have to pay the 5,000 gold fee for riding lessons for the epic mount?
|
No, see Blizzard came up with a workaround to the riding lessons, they just made mounts a buff. So it just looks like you're riding a mount.
(No animals were harmed in the riding of this mount) |
No, you see, you're bird will not replace your ground mount. The flying mount can only be used in Outlands, not Azeroth, and when you ride it on the ground, it only has 60% speed, so you are going to use your ground mount way more than your flying mount. Also, the epic flying mount cost 5200g. You should just buy the cheaper one first. The cheaper one goes 60% speed in the air, which sucks. The epic one goes 280% speed in the air.

OUR EQUIPMENT IS NOT UGLY, HAVE U EVEN SEEN THE WARLOCK TEIR GEAR AND OUTLAND GEAR??????
and before i state the rest of my post, the dreadsteed quest is by far the ONLY downside to being a warlock. Um yeah, the DM part is the last part not the scholomance part. I know exactly how you feel, i just recently got my mount too, cost me a good 500g or so, and time doing the damn quest. Its worth it, the dreadsteed is one of the best looking mounts ever. And the flying mount is not gonna replace ur ground mount. Sure in outlands u can use it only, but u wont need ur ground mount in outland, since u can move in a straight line from point a to point be without worrying about getting attcked or dmged, its roughly the same as ur ground mount. But in azeroth ull still need ur dreadsteed, and the flying mount is a bitch to get. so it was hard, but its worth it, our class mount the dreadsteed kicks ass. |
I know the tiered equipment and sets rock, but the majority of outland gear in cloth is ugly as hell.
Also I have another warlock running me down to get it either tonight or tomarrow, she has the items to summon the dreadsteed already, so I might get away with spending 250g less. Oh and a side note, I went destro not too long ago with the remaining points in demonology, and I'm a beast! |
