Ok, so I've been thinking, BYOND. All I see now are Naruto and DBZ anime fangames, mostly rips.
So, I started to think, "Why not make a game that none of these Narufags know about? But which game...?"
After a few days, I picked up Maison Ikokku and started reading, when I reached the end of the book and was looking at all the merchandise(I really want a Ranma 1/2 clock, specifically the Genma Panda-Form one), when it hit me - Ranma 1/2 would make a great game if done right!
So this question goes out to anybody who has any ideas on how I could do this.
I've got a few ideas, but I'm still trying to work out how to make it so it isn't another "macro 'til your the strongest" kind of game. Specifically, I've been trying to figure out how a player would recieve thier "curse of the drowned ______________", and what animals to use. These are what I've got so far -
Girl,Pig,Cat,Goose,Dragon,Tiger,Wolf,Panda,Octopus,Snake,Ox and Eagle. These are the only curses I know of so far that have appeared in the manga.
But yeah, would anybody like to help me?
GhostAnime, your help would be greatly appreciated seeing as you seem to have some knowledge of the manga/show <_<

What he means is, take out the cursing factor of Jusenkyo, all you have is a DBZ-type game (just fancy moves with no other plots and such)
If you are going to make a Ranma 1/2 game, you have to not just think of moves that was not involved in the series (as there isn't much there) but you should have a lot of quest and stuff.. And maybe you can make the character screen more customizable (eg: male/female, start as an amazon or reg. martial artist in Nermia).. you have to take other things in to consideration for the techniques as well (eg: depression level for shishi, confidence [let's say from winning fights, dispair from losing] for moko..er, however you spell Ranma's trademark attack, to learn amazon moves, you need to be an amazon or complete a quest which would make an amazon interested in to you so you can learn a few amazon moves without being one (eg: Ranma and Cologne), if you are a girl and you KOd an amazon warrior... better make them smart enough to track :P |
And to be honest, if you're just going to focus on "curse of the drowned [object] (no, it's not just animals)", then it's really no different than what the dragonball games are doing.
