Okay, spending some quality time with Morrowind to see if I can get into it. Things are picking up some, but I am hugely annoyed by a couple of things:

First off, things were going fine, and I'm a big tough guy who can carry like 300 pounds or something. Then, in the middle of the hills I find some door to a temple area and I go exploring the tunnels. I run into some minor demon-looking thing and kill it, and suddenly I'm "over-encumbered". I check my stats, and for no apparent reason my Strength and Endurance have been wacked (the numbers reduced and showing in red), and I can't move because I'm carrying too much stuff. No indication as to why.

So I start dropping things...eventually I have to drop all my armor, so I'm naked except for some flimsy underwear. I try resting to let whatever it is wear off, but no dice. So I run around randomly for a while while trying to figure out what to do, holding my axe in front of me in some form of bizarre modesty. In this stance I come across a woman...a woman who, seeing a naked guy with an axe come over the hill, naturally asks me for help escorting her to a field. She didn't even make a comment about my big...weapon.

After escorting her I help a couple of other guys out, and one, rather effeminate, actually says I should show the decency to wear some clothes.

Soon after I try resting again, and get attacked by some Ninja-like assassin dude. This actually happens a couple of times, and the second time I realize that the light armor on the corpse is actually better than what I've been wearing, and so I put it on. But somehow I manage to miss out on pants.

So now for the last couple of hours I've been running around the game in Ninja-wear, sans pants.

I even levelled up and it didn't fix my stats.

I ask you this, oh Morrowind fans (since Googling didn't help), how do I get my strength, my endurance, my modesty...and for heaven's sake, my PANTS back?
Sleep to up your stats and such. That's why it says "You have gained a level. You should rest to think upon your knowledge." or something. Sleeping should also restore your endurance, but later on you can get potions that pretty much do anything, including restore endurance.
Oh, I didn't see the strength thing. The way to fix that is either

A. go to an altar in a church and give a small amount of money to remove a curse/poison

or

B. buy a potion of restore strength

I haven't played Morrowind in months, so my information may be off, or even wrong. (but I doubt it)

Random tip: Always carry a scroll(s) of Divine Intervention or Almsivi Intervention. They're relatively cheap and teleport you to a town or church instantly.
You've probably been cursed. Its happened to me several times while exploring some Dwemer Familiy Crypts. A good flask of flin or two(or maybe up to 4) is bound to lift this from you long enough to go to a nearby temple to get the cursed removed(while carrying your stuff with you!).
Lol, interesting story <_<
I wish to pick up Morrowind at some point, but for now Fallout 2 will hold me ^_^
Good tips, so I just went to a temple, and it tells me I'm not afflicted with anything.

Argh!

It's gonna get old running around this game with no pants...I keep having to drop stuff everytime I'm required to carry some item.
My best advice: AVOID THE CRYPTS. Unless it's specifically marked on your map as part of the main quest, beware! It's insanely easy to wander into a high-level dungeon without warning and get completely and totally owned by the first critter you come across.

That's one of my main problems with Morrowind, actually - it seems that wherever I go to do some levelling-up combat, the monsters are either too weak and scarce to make any difference (and make combat even mildly interesting), or too numerous and deadly to fight. And you can't tell the difference until you get seven shades of OUCH slapped into you, by which point it's too late.

All of which goes to show that freeform gaming is great, except when it's not. =)
I bet the creators of these games are laughing at you :P

I give up on the question from my comment. I don't think anyone wants to help me :( forget you all :(
Get a remove curse potion from a temple or a mages guild... that's what I did when something like this happened to me... (I think it was some crypt that was right outside of balmora when it did happen).

Crypts are eeebul... but the one I went to was actually filled with all this 1337 stuff... glowing equipment and scrolls. =D
Might be the same crypt...it's also outside Balmora. I'll play around more at the temple and see if I can get any results.
Woohoo...tried the various shrines in the Balmora temple, and one had some kind of Restoration option that did the trick.

Now back to find them pants!
You have to watch out for the things called Bonewalkers. They will lower you strength and endurance if they hit you. It's better if you use spells to take them out or have a 'Restore Attributes' potion with you.

And about the ninja. He was a Dark Brotherhood Assassin. If it said your journal was updated talk to the closest and you'll get further instructions to head to the capitol city.
They really should make and MMO mod for Morrowind. I'd play, I think that would be awesome.

"And about the ninja. He was a Dark Brotherhood Assassin. If it said your journal was updated talk to the closest *guard and you'll get further instructions to head to the capitol city."

Heh, sorry forgot to put that in. :P
Yup things are under way now...I did get a guard to mention that, but I'm off to handle a task for the Fighter's guild.

It is picking up, though at this point I'd say that World of Warcraft in some ways is the Morrowind MMO...it has tons of quests, some quite detailed, and lots of exploration.

But it also has much more interesting combat and even landscape I would argue (so far).
Morrowind is endless...so much to do, and you'll want to replay it to become a vampire/werewolf...
Unfortunately, they totally screwed over the magic people. It's so hard to get leveled up with them.

Once you reach level 20 or so go to Khuul and travel to Solstheim (if you have the GOTY Edition or the Bloodmoon Expansion). The main story and the side mission of Ravenheart are very fun and the main story is very well told.

And Deadron, while were on the topic of Morrowind. How do you pronounce your name? I pronounce it: Day-druhn because of the Deadra on Morrowind (Day-Druh). I bet you didn't think that had anything to do with eachother! :P
I went fully combat cause I'd heard something about the magic...

On the subject of my name, I'll make a post about that.
I have advice, keep your hands out of your pants! =p
Well, I'm going to pick up Morrowind later. Also, Gordon, same here, if I don't get MW, I'll stick with Fallout 2. =p
They're Daedra, not Deadra, Pop.
Didn't notice that. Thanks.

Call me Fizzy!!
