What operating system and/or browser are you using?
Windows 10, Opera GX

What were you trying to do when the problem occurred?
Run BYOND

What actually happened, and how did it differ from what you expected?
BYOND and SS13 worked pretty well for me. Ads were the slowest part of getting into a game. Then I installed 516. Now games are off the table.

On run, the black "Loading game information..." window pops up. Sometimes, a loading bar appears and moves to 100%, then nothing else happens. Sometimes, a loading bar does not appear. This window always appears. Just now, after ~20 minutes AFK, I came back to find the text changed to "Loading live games from the BYOND hub..."
I cannot get past this window.

What steps did you follow?

Looked for solutions from years ago. BYOND had created a new folder in my OneDrive documents and started using it since the update. I fixed this with RegEdit as prescribed (and it keeps trying, requiring repeated corrections as I continue troubleshooting - if there's a lasting fix for this, I'd appreciate it. OneDrive has never been anything but inconvenient to me, but I can't get rid of it). No change in behavior.
Tried to install WebView2. The installer says I already have it. No change in behavior.
Downgraded to 515. 515 works without issue, except that my preferred SS13 server has already moved on to 516, so it's useless.
Uninstalled BYOND. Removed the BYOND folder from documents. Reinstalled 516 with all of Windows Defender's buttons switched off. No change in behavior.

FIX:
Completely destroyed the BYOND folder in Program Files (x86), including byondapi and DirectX folders that stay behind after an uninstall. Reinstalled. No further issues.

Follow the instructions for installing Webservices2, its a dependency for BYOND in 516 and some people dont have it, and have these issues.

If you mean WebView2, that was already installed, mentioned as one of the steps I followed. When I look up "install WebServices2," it turns up no results.

I found a different solution.

Would you mind sharing or linking it here in order to help other users? There have been a lot of people having issues since 516 came out and the more people that share their solutions the easier it is for others to get sorted! :)
Hey I've been having the same problem. No idea why since I have the webservices2. I even nuked my byond entirely and reinstalled it. Still never fixed it. Its becoming a real problem now as most servers are requiring 516.
