A lot of people have been having trouble with 516.
The hub not loading at all, games being just a blank white screen when you connect to them etc.

Turns out, 515 used Internet Explorer, which almost every computer has by default.
516 replaces IE with Microsoft Edge Webview 2, which most computers don't have.

It's in the patchnotes, but it's not exactly public knowledge... the program has a new external requirement, if you don't have webview 2 - it ain't gonna work.

Download the bootstrapper (left most option)
Run it.
Restart your computer.

Tada. 516 now works perfectly.

Well, 99% of PCs, according to Steam stats, have a version of Windows 10 or higher - and they come with Microsoft Edge browser by default (and it uses Webview 2). So it's a bit incorrect to say that most computers don't have Webview 2 by default. Perhaps you meant most 25-years old computers

Having Edge installed doesn't mean Webview2 is installed. Edge doesn't use webview2, it's a chromium fork, webview2 is just an embedded solution that uses the same fork in a different form.

That said, the download page lets you know that webview2 is required and provides a link to install it. The installer can probably be updated to install it similar to how it does directx, but that will likely bloat the installer's size quite a bit and if you already have webview2 installed that's added bandwidth for very little benefit.

WebView2 comes preinstalled on Windows 11. Microsoft is currently rolling it out to Windows 10 devices.
