i recently moved away from windows, the eol coming and all that.
byond doesn't have a way to play natively
i told myself that i could "just use wine to play"
now i am fighting a nonfunctional box that is the byond pager to be able to log in.
i tried following some of the guides but they are all for older versions of byond.
however they were helpful to get it to a "running" state.
it is stuck trying to "load game information", with the command line saying nothing but crickets when i run it through there, and i am not sure if i am missing yet another dependency or it's the spaghetti somehow breaking something in such a way-
i feel like i am going insane. can anybody help with this?

ok, one. ntlm_auth is a part of winbind, yet another dependency
two, it was not the cause of the crash. |

by using the ctrl+l on pager, i was able to log in.
and manually navigating to dreamseeker, i was able to go to a server.
granted it exploded when i tried to do that, but a crash is better than it sitting there and not tell me anything.
here is the crash log.
from what i can read, there was a small issue with the 3d engine, then a depency reared it's head, warned about problems, problems, crash.
