[Game Update Announcement: Revamp]
Hello BYOND community and returning players,
I’m excited to announce the latest updates and improvements to the game, especially for those of you who’ve played before. This version introduces several new features and enhancements as we prepare for the official release. Here's what’s new:
Key Updates and Features
- Real-Time Pokémon Spawning
Pokémon now roam freely across the world. Instead of random encounters in tall grass, you’ll see them wandering in real-time, making the game world feel more alive. - Unique Abilities for Every Pokémon
Each Pokémon now has its own ability with an energy cost or buildup. Abilities can include powerful attacks or supportive moves, adding more depth to battles. - Monotype Simplification
To keep balancing manageable, all Pokémon are now monotypes. Dual-typed Pokémon have been simplified to a single type for a more streamlined experience. - Simplified Stats
Stats have been reduced to just HP and Damage. Modifiers like Defense and Damage boosts are tied directly to abilities, keeping the system simple yet effective. - Boss and Alpha Pokémon
Alpha Pokémon are now tied to side quests. These challenging encounters unlock progress and provide meaningful rewards as you explore. - Exclusive New Assets
New game-specific visuals are being added regularly. Expect fresh designs and updates to enhance the experience.
Upcoming Release Plans
- Classic Town-Based Mapping
The game map will feature towns and a more classic design, moving away from the wilderness/survival theme. Pokémon will spawn in static locations for a more consistent experience. - Legendary Quests
Legendary Pokémon will now be tied to specific quests instead of random wild spawns. This change makes their acquisition more meaningful and rewarding. - Shiny Pokémon in the Wild
Shiny Pokémon will now naturally appear in the wild. No more manual sprite swaps; shiny hunting will be fully integrated into the game. - Generations 3-4 on Launch
The initial release will include Pokémon from Generations 1-4, with plans to expand over time.
Why Return Now?
This new version is designed to improve gameplay for both old and new players. With updates like real-time Pokémon spawns, simplified mechanics, and quest-based challenges, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
