This work week has flown by, hasn't it?

Little joke. With Christmas falling on a Wednesday that makes the break lay out really weird. I could've called today off entirely, and for the most part I probably will. I'm gonna try to attend to a couple of minor things, none of them bug fixes, but mostly today's a day to get stuff ready for a wrap-fest tomorrow. So basically the news today is all about signing off for the year and sharing my gratitude for the part you guys played in it.

I'll still be around of course during the break, but not doing any important work tasks apart from spammer-stomping. Bug fixes are gonna wait till the new year. A few have already come in, and I expect more will do so as people play with the beta. That's pretty normal. I'm also interested to see how the work people are doing making WINE behave with BYOND 516 will evolve. It seems like things are moving pretty well for them on that front; I know there's been some success there, although I don't know exactly how much or if it might be acting up for some people. I have faith in these guys.

Thank you so much to all of the BYOND Members and regular subscribers over on Patreon and SubscribeStar. I deeply appreciate all of you, and hope you have the very best of holidays this year.

What are my Christmas break plans, you ask? Well, I want to get through two Lego builds, all three extended Lord of the Rings films, and the M4 Book Edit of the Hobbit films (which apparently updated since I last looked, but too late). I'm not going to try to make my special after-Christmas burger, which is a big production and will take time away from the aforementioned to-do list, but I still might do something special in the air fryer if inspiration strikes. I'm not going to aim for a Three Stooges marathon, unless I decide to watch some by night. But I might go a different direction by night and watch some James Bond films, because why not? And that's mostly it, really.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a mak gam!
Merry X-Mas Lummox!!!
I'm going to watch Better Call Saul for the first time at my cabin!! Gonna scavenge heaps of good Christmas food from the city!!

For most part, pretty well for ubuntu users. I, myself, using Linux Mint is having a great experience and I can't believe it! There is some issues with in game popup windows and layering issues in some games like for example character creation in SS13, but I am not sure if 516 issues, or WINE. Trace/Alter camera view is not working @all and major layering issues, perhaps a 516 issue? I don't see why much of anything will be broken with WINE regarding gameplays other than how well WINE works with webview2 which surprisingly works pretty well using Scriptis's installation guide. But all in all, I think we can expect a much broader community now that BYOND 516 is out, and WINE users have been successful @ playing BYOND games with TGUI. I also am glad you are mentioning WINE users in your updates, makes us feel more supported by the community. :)

I also been playing Meranthe, and everything works fine! I did have some issues with sprites flickering...I am not sure how to explain it...if I come across the bug again I will screen record and report it as a bug. But it's 90% perfect. The only bug I cameby was that one. It's great to finally be able to use the chatbox and scroll through the messages instead of refreshing the logs, and also viewing people's description and hearing their theme music which you couldn't do before. The future of BYOND is looking better, and to think it's because we are finally moving away from internet explorer. (Kinda sad to let go of :()
