Gah, this is probably more a rant than anything, but whatever. Anybody out there miss the old days of Anime, before it was popular and cool?
Tenchi Muyo, Blue Submarine No 6, Outlaw Star - I miss 'em, and everybody going "zomg Naruto/YuGiOh/Bleach/Zatch Bell", because of the people who say them , almost all of them have never heard of any of the good stuff really gets on my nerves.

Seriously, if you haven't seen Outlaw Star, and claim the crap on Toonami is the best ever, shoot yourself, because you are very silly.

Which brings me to something else - Why is all anime a rip off of the good stuff that isn't shown on American TV?

Example:

Zatch Bell is a rip off of Rozen Maiden, desu

Naruto/Bleach is just DBZ with Ninjas/Swords

Bobobo Bo Bobobo is some retarded combonation of Excel Saga and FLCL, and a horrible combonation, at that. If you think anything is funnier than the anime of Excel Saga/Puni Puni Poemy/Slayers, you either haven't heard of these golden anime titles, or you don't know funny.

Gah, where'd the good days go?

Edit

If you haven't seen Outlaw Star, but have enough sense to tell good from bad, do NOT shoot yourself.
I miss it too. I really liked Blue Gender and Robotech. Hell, even salior moon was fun to watch back then. Now everyone is killing it :(

I still love Wolf's Rain, Hellsing, and Gundam :D

Ah, I know! I loved Wolfs Rain and the old Gundam/Gundam 0081/Gundam Wing. Those shows pwn. I never got a chance to watch Blue Gender, but I just recently bought a DVD of it, so I must watch. Im just glad that there hasn't really been any rip offs of Sailor Moon -yet-. I'll admit it, I watched it, and I loved it, and even now, sometimes I'll sit down and watch it. Why? It was my first anime, it got me into anime, unlike everyone and thier silly Ninjas and Swords.
You can't copy SM. It's just too funky of a plot. The closest thing that can ever come to it is Azumanga Daioh.
I've never seen Outlaw Star, but I did quite enjoy Cowboy Bebop and Trigun.
Cowboy Bebop and Trigun were good. I absolutely hated this one anime. Reign is what it's called I think. It's about Alexander the Great, but it sucked and they all looked weird.
<3 Ranma 1/2, it made me laugh a few time..

and original DB, DBZ and GT raped the original story line
DB was for perverts...
Huzzah, some actual sense about anime!

Tenchi was the shiz.

If you get the chance to, watch it. The voice actors for the English version aren't the best, but they're not too bad. It's a good anime.

Cowboy Bebop is the pinnacle of anime, in my opinion. If I had to choose between watching any other anime, and that, I'd go for Bebop in a heartbeat.
French anime's where it's at. The Mysterious Cities of Gold kicked ass.

(And before somebody says only Japanese cartoons are anime... it's anime in France, too, and if you look at the style of European cartoons from that era, you can see where the Japanese style developed from. Moreover, Japanese consider any animated cartoon to be anime... Tom & Jerry is ranked about midway up the top 100 anime of all time by Japanese fans. How did an American cartoon even make the list? There's no dialogue in most episodes, so nothing to translate or dub... this makes it cheap to syndicate in any country.)
What about Yu Yu Hakusho, Case Closed, and Rurouni Kenshin, don't forget Cowboy Bebop.

Oro!? I know, I forgot them. It was around midnight, gimme a break :P

I wish I could get the Anime Network where I live, I could watch the good stuff all day long, but I don't get it. Not offered in my area :(
Outlaw star can be watched at Myspace.com it has all 25 episodes thats around 12.5 hours (if you round each ep up to 30 min)
