I don't know much about computers, so if anybody could help, it'd be nice.
I'm tired of waiting for Windows to fricken' load, and since that incident with the library CD actually containing several downloader trojans, even though I rid myself of all of them(500+ when I fininshed D:), it seems to have done some permanent damage to my computer. I am tired of Windows, it is full of crap. It's just too damn slow, it freezes when shutting down half the time, their system restore CDs are so unreliable, you can only make one copy of the system restore CDs which happen to not work most of the time, I could keep going, but jadsfhakljfhas
If I delete my C: drive, then pop in the Ubuntu Live CD and install Ubuntu from the CD, and when I reboot my computer, would it runs Ubuntu without the CD?

The installation process is quite easy.
Depending on how old your PC is, it might be faster just to use the text mode CD (it's the same thing; but in a text mode interface installer.)
Just post on the Linux Guild forums if you're having any trouble!
