Er, I kinda deleted the rest of that cause I don't think it's really relevant.
Anyways, yeah I have two questions. The first of which is an actual problem... not ENTIRELY sure how to put it into words but here goes;
In a couple of the games I play (namely WildBlood's HM:TR and Omnipotence games) there is a macro that was used in order to to put the *say "* command on the command line. However, that macro (and that macro ALONE) doesn't work. And despite several tries in trying to use a home-made macro to emulate the effect I haven't been able to get the same effect. So as a result, in order to talk, a player has to either get the over-sized box to appear and type their message in that to speak, or backspace .alt out of the command line, and manually type say in to speak. Is there any way to get around this or is there going to be a future bug-fix.. assuming it's an error with Dantom. (Then again I don't know for sure - no one currently has access to the source code, so...)
Second question: Is there any way to get a list of commands available? Such as say... hidden commands that you'd have to type into the command bar in order to use. WildBlood also had the tendency to code in a lot of hidden commands that no one can figure out. Kinda would help to know them considering he's not around. Ah well!
Thanks in advance for your help! <3

I haven't played with interface elements yet so I wasn't able to accomplish this myself, but you can try to edit the skin by right-clicking Dream Seeker in the taskbar, highlighting Client, and choosing Edit Skin. You can also try to add your own macro by choosing Macro. Second question: Is there any way to get a list of commands available? I can't get the traditional method of using the space bar to work, it may be that his verbs are hidden or it may be that SPACE is used as a macro. |

You can also try to add your own macro by choosing Macro. Click the [Alt] button on the interface of the game twice. This turns off Macro Mode. Then go into File and click "Options". Once there, use the Client menu and select "macro". Once you're there, make a new macro with the command "say" without the quotes. Okay, then go back to the game, and press the key you have assigned for say. The say box should then come up. As for viewing the verbs, the traditional method didn't work and I'm not sure of any others. I'll look into it later on. |
The method of say macro you mentioned is one I have been the one I have been using. That's what I mean when I was referring to *the big say box* (though that probably wasn't the best way of describing it, eh? Heh).
I was just curious if there was a way to type out messages fast and just hit enter to send. When you use the method you described you need to click on the OK button in order to actually send the message as opposed to doing something like hitting enter. I guess you can hit tab, and the enter, but.. <s>And yeah, the Space method for hidden commands doesn't work.</s> Thanks for your help so far, though~ ^^ |
I attempted to edit the skin to include my own input bar. But everytime I tried to connect to the game, it told me "The skin for this world has been updated, would you like to replace it with your custom skin". If I clicked "No", it would reconnect me and display the message again. If I clicked "Yes", it would reconnect me and not display the error.
I'll have to look deeper into it. But my reconnection's were annoying the users on the server. So I'll do it later on when it's quieter. -- I decided to ask the players in the game if they knew a method to talk as you wish. Aparently we're putting too much thought into it. When you have the chat bar selected, backspace until the .alt is gone, then type in "say[space]" and what you want to say. That will effectively use the command line to talk. |
I decided to ask the players in the game if they knew a method to talk as you wish. That's how I have been talking, however. ...or backspace .alt out of the command line, and manually type say in to speak. I was just curious if there was any way to set up a say macro so that it would appear on the command line. For some reason, even hitting the "Chat" button, while putting say on the command line won't actually enable you to type a message. It's weird. And I was wrong... the space method (to find 'hidden' verbs, that is) DOES work. Just not in his game. Oh well. >_> |
Not so sure how to handle that one.
To see hidden commands, go to your command line (an input box), clear it of any data so it's completely blank, then press space (while the command line is your active control). It should pop up with a list of verbs.
