Hello, im from Russia so sorry for my bad english.

I have been playing ss13 fallout server for a week or so and then i couldnt connect to it. It just says "Connection failed after handshake" or something similar and then it loads infinitely showing text like "Dreamseeker has a problem reaching byond. If your game doesnt start, please check your firewall and antivirus settings to be sure BYOND programs are not blocked", i really liked the server and want to continue playing it but BYOND doesnt let me.

I tried: Reinstalling BYOND, logging in and out of account, deleting(turning off) all antiviruses, turning my PC on and off, turning my wifi on and off(because mostly it didnt load because of that), i tryed turning off BYOND with task manager and turning it back off, i tryed doing all of that at same time and nothing is working.
All other servers work fine, i asked people in discord and they had no idea.

Here is the similar post: http://www.byond.com/forum/post/2105422

If server's IP is needed here it is: byond://135.148.150.231:1337

BYOND version: 515.1637

Privet!

Connection failed after handshake

This could be a problem on the byond side, but with how often it happens and exactly for Russian players, I'm thinking it can be because of Roskomnadzor and their war against VPN and everything else.

Our server and some others are suffering from this too. Happens randomly for different players, sometimes just for couple of days and then they can play again.

It's still not confirmed, there is no one debugged connection on the network level yet. Problem is not reproducible for me, and I'm not competent enough to dig it remotely on someone else’s PC.

But it was confirmed case for SCP Secret Laboratory recently - https://ntc.party/t/7681

tl;dr DPI filter (TSPY, can't write name in russian) interfered with client connection to the server due to a match in one of the game assets. And problem started around the same time as ours.

It's still can be byond issue and maybe Lummox need to look into this too, I don't know. But it's hard to ignore coincidences with geo.

What you can do as client - try to play through VPN (funny advice, I know). Maybe one that looks like https for provider. Or you can try different ISP if you have access to any.

Or host can try to setup relay server (haproxy+mmproxy), it helped for some of our clients. There is also one possible solution on the link above, but I have not tested it.
