After a bunch more bug-fix work, I finally got another maintenance release out for 515 yesterday. It was a little bit overdue, but thankfully that's out of the way now. I still have a couple of issues that didn't make the cut, mostly because I wanted to push out a release and not delay it any longer, so there's more to come.
At the same time I got out a new alpha for 516, which includes the features I discussed last week. The browser storage option still needs more work, so that's going to be an upcoming focus. I also have a small list of other 516 work I want to get in. It'd be great if I could get a little closer to the movement overhaul stuff, even though that isn't on deck till 517. As I said, 516 is aiming to be a shorter beta (once it's in beta), so it won't be too long.
Part of the 516 work this week was getting some new vars in place for icon positioning related to planned SIDE_MAP changes, but another part of those changes requires some more focused effort: namely, that icons should anchor to the bottom left of the bounding box instead of the southwest corner of their position. This can simplify some positioning issues, but it also means I have to make some modifications to how bounds data is sent along. When the discussions about this happened they didn't take some issues with overlays into account. I'll figure it out.
Many thanks to everyone whose contributions kept the lights on last month. All of the Members, Patrons, and SubscribeStar...scribers are greatly appreciated.
Coming up, we have a flower holiday and a flag holiday and the start of summer, and likely the start of some pretty serious seasonal allergies because I forgot to call a tree guy about the scrub ash that needs to go. In fact they seem to be starting right now. Good times! See you next week, with a tissue in my nostril and a diminishing supply of Benadryl.
