This week got off to a rough start and it had some bumps since then, but I'd say it was a good one for development.
Most of my efforts this week were focused on a maintenance release for 515. Because some new bug reports popped up both early on and over the following couple of days, on top of the aforementioned rough start, I made the decision to wait and put out the new release a couple of days later than planned. A lot of good stuff went into it, so it was worth the delay.
For 516 I've been attacking some rough corners, and also tried my hand at a new compiler feature. Said feature is probably not going to be "complete" in a lot of respects, but it might help some users looking to shore up unusual bugs. It's the kind of thing I expect to evolve during the beta, even though I still plan on the beta cycle being short this time.
Even so, I don't want to dally around too much, so it'd be great if I could get an alpha build out next week. Not Monday, because nobody would believe they were real. If the alpha is squirrely on some features I don't think that's a huge problem.
Thanks a ton to everyone who's stepped up to support BYOND this month. It really means a lot.
Easter weekend is upon us! And the week after that, the world's greatest traffic jam outside of China, if the warnings I've been hearing are to be believed. That probably precludes me getting a better vantage than my backyard, but I'll make do. I've got my protection ready, including for my phone, and I'll try to get some good pictures. Pray for clear skies; that's a big ask for the beginning of April.
