Gads it's been a week. This is the first day all week I haven't had to be up at a ridiculous hour, and being perpetually exhausted was in many ways one of the least painful things about it.

Despite a number of massive setbacks to my schedule and being half-comatose most of the week, I managed to get some solid work done. I started off with more 516 mini-projects, including a change to switch() I've had in mind forever that involves a new pragma, and some changes to for() loops that can, in some cases (especially with the new alist()), increase efficiency.

Bug fixes for 515 are still on tap, and I have a couple of minor ones ready to go. One of them was that the compiler warning on disabling loop_checks was done backwards, so it only fired when explicitly setting loop_checks to 1 instead of (as intended) haranguing users to turn the checks back on.

I've also started on a map editor feature I think I can at least begin, even if I doubt it'll go in for 515 because 515 needs to close out soon. But that led me into an old and well-known compiler bug regarding infinite cross-reference loops in cases that shouldn't be considered loops, and that was quite the gopher hole. I'm still not sure if a fix for that bug is on the horizon or not, because it's gonna be brutal to deal with.

January was an unexpectedly good month for the fundometer, and I want to sincerely thank all of you who made that possible. Your support means everything. And I don't want to leave out all the supporters on Patreon or SubscribeStar either, whose steady contributions help also.

Now we begin the slide into the event everyone has been dreading most: No, not Valentine's Day. I mean the Taylor Swift show, with intermittent bursts of football, an uncharacteristically good choice for a halftime show that will be wasted on this mess, and commercials so unworthy of the event they were crafted for that back in the '90s (when we had standards) the people who signed off on those ads would've been defenestrated.

asslist()

WILDLY inappropriate. Flagrantly offensive. Delightfully topical.
