Im kinda stuck in a loop here, the stable version runs fine, it atleast lets me attempt to join a server but then tells me i cant because its outdated. so to play i have to use the beta version of course, however, something with the beta version doesnt wanna work anjd it just shows "dream seeker not responding" after a while of trying to load the server, and then is stuck in a infinite loop of trying to send the error info to microsoft and i end up having to restart my pc.
It does that or it just stays on the "byond: your game is starting" blank screen forever, when i close the window task manager tells me dream seeker is still running in the backround and despite my efforts, i cant close it.
I have no clue why its doing this only for the beta version or whats making it happen. any info is helpful at this point.
I am using windows 11 if that helps.

What exact beta build are you trying to run? And do you get issues joining other games, or just that specific one?
I don't know if it will help, but you might want to try reinstalling the Visual C++ runtime files (there's a link on the downloads page). Otherwise, my advice would be to break into the dreamseeker.exe process with a debugger and generate a minidump file. There's info here for Chromium that's applicable to you: https://www.chromium.org/for-testers/ bug-reporting-guidelines/hanging-tabs/ Essentially you'll need to download Process Explorer and run that to grab a minidump of the hanging Dream Seeker process. |
im trying to run 515.1630, and it happens with all games.
i tried donwloading those files like you said, it said setup complete so i took that as assumption it worked, but same results with byond. i dunno a lot about this kind of stuff but ill try to do the break into the process with debugger thing as best as i can. |
it just seems like nothing works.
