What a week it's been. The new system finally has an arrival date, which means sometime next week it should get here, I can install the GPU, and then I can get it in position and begin the spin-down process of making last-minute new backups for frequently used files. Realistically I expect I won't get the transition going until early the week after next, or possibly next weekend if I'm feeling up to the challenge.

In the meantime of course I've still been chasing bugs here and there, with a few fixes waiting in the wings. Before moving 515 to the stable channel, though, I had a long discussion last night about Byondapi and it's looking like it would be a very wise idea for me to pivot on its design a little, which will affect existing code but hopefully make things easier for some people, while also making things a bit faster. I hate to do last-minute changes like that, especially if they mess up anything that was existing, but I think Byondapi adoption is early enough that this will work.

What that means for the stable channel I don't know; my hope was to get 515 into the stable channel before the transition but that might not be realistic. At least now we're on the new compiler, which was the bigger deal, so I can move 515 to stable relatively quickly once I'm ready to start work on WebView2.

As always I'm grateful to all the BYOND Members and supporters through other channels who make this possible. I haven't made up my mind yet about updating Membership pricing (which has been stagnant a very long time), although at this point I don't want to rock that boat till I have a new boat to rock.

I do, however, finally have a new chair. Which is one less thing on my plate going into a very hectic next few weeks. Get your costumes ready and mag gam.
