Hi! I'm writing this post on behalf of a friend that cannot reactivate his old account (frozen for inactivity, so he also cannot post here) and couldn't receive any email on his gmail account. I also tried to make a brand new byond account on a gmail account to see if it was just his problem, but I also didn't receive any message, not even in the spam section. The outlook account I am using, that was also frozen for inactivity, received instead the validation message instantly
Hey, just wanted to let you know that Lummox JR is aware of the problem and is trying to figure out a fix for it. Gmail is just refusing to accept BYOND emails, and working out the details of that problem is going to be annoying. If I see an update before Lummox says something here, I'll post something. In the meantime, sit tight, perhaps temporarily use a different email service.

Just to give you an update on where this is at:

1) There was a configuration issue regarding anti-spam protections. I've addressed that, so it should be easier going forward for recipients to confirm our emails aren't spam.

2) The site was on at least one blocklist, which might be the rest of the reason this is bouncing. I've put in a request to remove it, and we'll see where it goes from there. So far it hasn't been removed.

3) I've contacted my host to look into this as well, because the problem started with very suspicious timing when the old security certificate was set to run out. That certificate has been replaced, but I'm not certain if something was perhaps missed and that's part of the problem.

If the problem doesn't resolve by tomorrow I'm going to look into more options. I'm hoping it doesn't take that long, though.

I'm the one Frank was talking about and this is my original account. I can confirm you that whatever you did it worked and gmail just sent me the confirmation email and now i can use this account again.
I really appreciate your hard work and your timeliness. Keep up the good work guys, we love you, and what you are doing here! ;)
It looks like this briefly got fixed, then got broken again.

One thing I tried today was adding a new record that was intended to fix the issue, but it didn't seem to be doing anything as far as I could tell. I removed it later, and I'm wondering if that actually did address the problem. I've gone ahead and put it back, so hopefully the mails will stop bouncing again in a little bit.
Update: It appears that the emails are now passing somewhat intermittently, which is an improvement from before. I'm hoping this is a good sign that it's clearing up.
If it may help you, check the time i wrote my previous post: i had just tried to send me a verification email and it arrived instantly. Another friend of us, not participating at this forum post, tried it after me with his Byond account (signed with a gmail account) and it worked instantly for him too.
If the timing matches with the time you added the new record, yes, the fix worked flawlessly at least for three of us
