Do you remember last week's news when I said I planned to release 515.1609 early this week? Me too! Unfortunately it Tuesdayed hard this week and my Internet connection was down for more than two days, hamstringing my ability to move forward with that.

I did however get in a lot of bug fix work during the down time, one of those bugs being quite difficult. There was also a need to do additional testing on Byondapi during the button-up, and it was a great thing I did because some major issues showed up that needed addressing, which hadn't been clear from earlier tests.

But the delays getting everything buttoned up, on top of the further problems caused by the outage, threw things off enough that this week just wasn't going to happen for the next release. Not to worry, though: Things are looking set for early next week, barring any more unforeseen circumstances. And after that, the march toward buttoning up 515 to be the stable build.

Thanks to all of you whose contributions help keep BYOND running, whether it's as Members or over on Patreon or SubscribeStar. I couldn't do this without you.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly next week. In the meantime, there's a weekend worth weekending. And if you're looking for a career, consider becoming a cable technician because the world apparently needs twice as many of them.
I foresee unforeseen circumstances
I would much rather a decent BYOND update than one that breaks more games and gives bad impressions. So please take your time and dont feel the need to rush, it will just stress you out and get in your way...
GOOD JOB!
hey lummox what does byondapi do if you dont mind me asking
Byondapi is a series of function calls that allow more direct access to a BYOND server, that external libraries can use. It's also a new method of using call_ext() so you don't have to convert everything to strings and back.
