This week got off to a horrendous start, and honestly I'm surprised I got anything done at all. Car troubles, my cable modem spontaneously biting the dust, and lots of other unwelcome surprises got the ball rolling. It's been that kind of week.

Despite those setbacks, I was determined to accomplish something useful and sat down for a session of Linux testing for Byondapi. It was every bit as awful as expected—which is to say it could have gone better, and it could have gone worse, but it was the kind of mentally draining crap I don't want to have to do again for a long time.

Since then I've been on the hunt for a crasher that some SS13 servers are having, but it isn't clear to me if there's simply a bad interaction between the external libraries they're using and the threaded build. The crash is very strangely consistent but there's no logic whatsoever to explain it, and gathering information has been a slow trickle at best.

Another bug report is still on my plate, and I also need to button up Byondapi with some documentation, plus add it to the installer. I want to take care of these things before the next build, even if the mysterious crasher remains in limbo. I'm undecided on whether to make threading go mainstream with the next build or not because of that crash, but hopefully all will become clear soon.

None of this would be possible without the support of BYOND's Members and other contributors on various donation platforms. Thank you all, most sincerely.

If this week's schedule was a train wreck, next week's is a good old-fashioned orphanage conflagration, and that's if everything goes right. So we'll see what happens, but hopefully there will be some breakthroughs, and I might be able to sneak in some stuff in between the cracks. Bust out the fireworks and steaks, and I'll be back for some very intermittent slivers of next week.
