Another week, and the hunt for the mysterious thread—or possibly non-thread—crasher continues. But I think I might have a lead at last, as of late last night, and that's progress.

Some other progress came earlier this week when I discovered, through exhaustively looking over the code and also double-checking how it compiled, that the threading implementation did in fact have a hidden race condition in it. The new test build I put out this week fixed that, and improved some diagnostic tools for the other elusive crasher. I still need to post a bug report for the one I solved, since it's present in 515.1603, even though it's rare.

A lot of combing the code has been going on under the hood this week, which took up most of my attention, but there's also been some bug fixing here and there. Most of what's gone on has been sort of invisible to you, the end user, unless you've been part of the private testing in which case you saw a lot of tearing of thinning hair.

As always none of this would be possible without the help of you BYOND Members and supporters on the various donation platforms. I appreciate all of you who've shown their appreciation right back.

Despite physically being a bit of a mess this week, I look ahead to the next with optimism, on most fronts. I have a lot to do, but at least taxes are no longer one of the things hanging over my head. And yes, the tree went down before Easter. Only a day before, but still that counts for something considering the condition I've been in. Practice better posture, kids.
