For now, controllers are restricted to gameplay only. Pressing A on the main menu will toggle Ready/Not Ready. Movement is still a bit touchy in regards to the analog stick, but using the d-pad for movement appears to be the best option.
I haven't tested this with any other controllers besides an Xbox One controller.
