This has been going on for several days: I played SS13 with my friends and everything was fine, but the next day I could not join a friend's local game (other people had it successfully). Trying to solve the problem by reinstalling the client, I end up constantly getting stuck on "Validating account...". I also tried to change the password a couple of times, I can log in on this site without problems as you obviously can see, but not in the program. I've read that the problem may be related to the cache and firewall, but since I checked it was all right, or did not help. Again, I did absolutely nothing besides logging into the game and trying again the next day, how could there be a problem?
Howdy,

This is typically resolved via modifying your firewall settings. In particular, you want to ensure that anything in BYOND's bin folder is allowed, specifically BYOND.exe and dreamseeker.exe

If that's not giving you any luck (even after a PC restart) then it might be worth trying to refresh your BYOND user config folder. This folder is typically stored under Documents, but may differ based on your install settings. The folder's name is simply "BYOND" and has folders like bin, cache, cfg, KeyInfo, etc. in it. When you've located it, rename that overarching "BYOND" folder to "old_BYOND" and try starting your pager. This'll cause BYOND to reconstruct this folder with some fresh info. (This was mostly copied from Higoten's answer here)

Let me know if that gets you any further along!

I did as you suggested about renaming BYOND folder, I can't tell if it helped to fix the problem, because now pager takes forever to load game information.
Have you tried restarting your computer and/or router by chance? Just a suggestion seeing as this issue seemed to happen randomly as you've stated.
I restarted my computer several times since the issue occurred. Actually I've deleted BYOND folder from Documents and reinstalled BYOND, and now the main trouble is that it endlessly loading.
Hi D0nel,

All of the issues that you have observed, not being able to join a server, not being able to validate login information, and not being able to download game information from the hub are all key indicators that something on your PC or network is blocking BYOND traffic. Usually this is a firewall or antivirus program, but could be a networking issue further along, which may be the case if you're using a public or university network.

A good place to start is to check the Windows Firewall settings by typing "Windows Firewall" into the windows search box and press enter, then selecting "Allow an app or feature though Windows Firewall". Here you can verify that BYOND.exe is permitted to access the Internet on your current network. If Windows Firewall reports that another program is managing your security, you'll need to check there.

I give up guys
