I require help setting up a server on oracle cloud ARM64 ubuntu, I've been trying all day. I don't even know how to build the tgstation server files on linux.
I've got dreamdaemon set up in a rather painful way, using Box86. (maybe someone can find a better solution?)
It's all ready, but after a painful day, i can't seem to find any solutions and require someone to set this up properly & help me understand a bit more.

For building, if you're not able to translate the build.cmd instructions for linux you may want to reach out on the tgstation discord and see if they have anyone who's hosted through linux that could provide assistance. It might be simpler to compile on Windows, then move the finished compilation to your host server if that's available for you.
Someone else might be able to provide more concise answers but here's some resources I found. TGstation Discord: https://discord.com/invite/VW9ZEwc Forum post explaining installing and using Dream Daemon on Linux: http://www.byond.com/forum/post/724528 God speed pal. |
Honestly I don't think it's worth the effort to try to get this working on an ARM64 server. I can't imagine Box86 emulation being anything but slow, and any SS13 codebase is going to be expensive to the CPU but especially /tg.

Thanks! i've done a pre build on windows > linux and got to the next stage. I need to set up a rust environment so i can compile + run correctly tho. So this still requires a linux build. I got reasonably salty after a day of work and threw this post up pretty fast. But i seem to be getting somewhere? |
