Hi people.

What do you think of this skin concept? Sorry for big size, wanted best quality. #note# Space = 5 not 18.

The idea that is that the game is based on hot keys. This means you'll hit 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 and then be prompted with a menu stating "Equip,Drop,x,y,z". Now.. you only have 8 slots but there is no weight or max amount. Every item in every slot stacks.

P.S Anyone interested in working on a project like this? Just drop me your msn, facebook, irc. Any instant messaging based app basically. Feel free to ask questions here as well.

Looks pretty nice to me. It is kinda big but yeah. :O

Great, thanks :D I can't really make it any smaller unfortunately because some item names could be very large.

I LOVE it. However, you will want some distinction between the stats and the values methinks.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean?

Edit : Skin fully functional now. So many winset()'s argh.

It's too big for my monitor.

Yea there are some weird effects going on here. I don't think it should be a problem for the actual application. I suppose when I release a demo I'll find out. Should the resolution just adjust to fit your monitor? I really don't want to have to make a smaller game just because not everyone uses wide screens :( .

The fact that I use a widescreen is the problem. The interface is too tall. The basic size of the window unless its meant to be maximized should fit within the max pixels for the the most used small resolution (possibly 1280x768?).

Thanks for your help, that's really annoying news though. Ugh.. This is gonna take some re-thinking.

Yeah a bit of re-thinking, possibly a pixel smaller font and pixel smaller borders and the padding between border and font could be a little smaller. Just ideas that could save a bit of space. I think you could take it down from 1050px if I remember to 860 or if you wanted to advertise that it works only with widescreen so that you'd have a height of 900 to work with but thats not much more.

Yea, I'm thinking very much along those lines. I turned my resolution down to the common one suggested and worked out the map size and window size. I then went back to my very high resolution and am now working the background image, fonts and arrangement for this smaller resolution.

I suggest removing the window's menu bar unless you plan on filling it up with a lot more than the File menu. =)

I've been looking into this - how is that done?
In response to CauTi0N
Edit the window, enter its Options tab and delete the Menu ID field.

Good idea, thanks.
