Does the Windows clipboard keep track of what program an item was copied from?

I don't think so. Pictures (bitmap data) seems to be stored as temporal file, and small text probably remains in memory, while bigger gets temporally stored on disk.

Speaking of the Windows clipboard, has anyone else had trouble with the copy/paste command in the DM Icon Editor? It seems like every other time I use it the editor will become desynced or something. It will paste something I had pasted into the editor awhile ago rather than what's currently on my clipboard.
If I load up mspaint or something and paste it will work perfectly fine. I could switch back over to the icon editor and it'll continue to paste the wrong thing or nothing at all. Closing and reopening the editor doesn't always seem to fix it. |
If you copy icon state DM uses internal memory, not windows, so you can't paste it in other window. Maybe this happens to you?

If by this you mean, you can't copy from DM to another program, I remember differently - for a long time, I've copied from DM to GIMP and back with no issues, aside the top right pixel. If that's not what you meant, my mistake. |
What is the appeal to Graphics Gale and GIMP? Unneededly complicated. If I want Photoshop I'll get it. I use iDraw, personally.
