I have a Dell Pentium D dual core @ 2.79GHZ with 2GBs of ram. I plan on dropping 4GBs into the system, but right now I'd like to get a new video card.
I have a Geforce 9400 GTS, 512MB and it works wonderfully for me, but unfortunately this PC is a form factor and it only supports low profile cards.
I need some recommendations for a few low profile video cards. I use my PC mostly for video games and videos, along with a bit of BYOND.
I know I won't be able to find a hardcore video card for my PC, I am just looking for something to fit into my PC that will let me keep the cover on. Right now I am running my 9400 GTS in it with the cover off and I don't like that.
Right now i am looking at a low profile Nivida 9800 GT, 1GB. Can anyone recommend that or do they have another suggestion?

between $40 and $50.00, I wouldn't really want to go over $60 or $70.00.

I have the non-form factor version of this card, and it runs superbly for the price. Its a 9500 GT 1 gb, and as for performance, its benchmarks(without OC) way outpace an 8600 GT 512 mb, and I can run MW2 with everything maxed at 1280x800, AAx2 and AFx4(might be able to bump those two up, but anything more than that and it appears blurry to me and hurts my head, but then again I'm almost blind in my right eye, so meh) Its 60.99 btw, and does not need a supplementary power adapter. |
