I connected my XBox 360 Elite to my computer's windows media extender thing. I am trying to watch movies through it, but I get a message that says "Cannot Play Video The file type is not recognized and cannot be played. The right codec isn't installed or the file is corrupt." I've tried all types of movie files. I downloaded videos that were said to be XBox 360 ready (H264 mp4 format), and still the same result. The only movie I have successfully watched is a .mov file I recorded with my webcam. Is there some type of problem with my XBox or what? I've even tried Videora XBox 360 Converter and Xilisoft XBox converter, and still the same text pops up.
Is your Xbox 360 actually online? Because I just download movies, put them on a USB memory stick and play them from that. If the movie type has a codec the Xbox 360 media player doesn't have yet, then it will download it for me. I haven't had a single movie yet I couldn't play. Having to stream your movies from your Windows Media Center seems like way too much work.
