This might seem like a rather silly question, but I haven't been able to access the website from any computer on my network since some time yesterday, and the pager has started kicking me to offline mode.
I can't join anything, page anyone, or browse the website without a proxy, so it certainly sounds like I've been banned, but I haven't received any sort of notification or explanation, so now I'm forced to awkwardly ask:
Have I (regular key: Lord Raven) been banned from the BYOND community? If so, I would also kind of like to know why, but I guess the staff isn't obligated to give me any closure.
If anyone has another logical explanation for this phenomenon, please indulge me.

Nevermind, I guess I just cached a bad DNS entry; I thought I ran a flush last night, but I guess not (or it happened again immediately?).

This happened to me and one of my friends too yesterday, I asked Tiberath why would this happen, and he said, it was my ISP..
I contacted my ISP(Optimum) and told them if they could fix it They said 24-72 hours or less T_T =) Glad it was less! |
We were having some DNS issues yesterday; it seems they're still rippling through the Internet. I had hoped they'd be completely behind us but appearently that's not the case. If you're able to access BYOND again now, then it's probably over for good. Some of our subdomains flickered on and off for me yesterday but it all eventually came back, and today I haven't had any trouble.
However, we do want to rule out the possibility that something at our server end is messed up, so if you see the problem reappear sometime beyond the next few hours, please let us know (if you can). If the problem is not merely a one-time DNS snafu propagating through the system but a recurring issue, then we need to be able to clamp it down. Lummox JR |

I had this problem also, wasn't able to access the website for a few days, it appears to be fixed now.

I couldn't get on for most of the day yesterday, but I had the exact same problem with one other site(I was sure it was up but unable to access it). I figured it was a local DNS issue(but my phone, work, and home computer all couldn't get to it, an all the are on different DNSs). Good to hear I wasn't the only one.
