What makes this tool any better than the Print Screen button on our keyboards?

Good question, ...

this tool, is faster to save an screenshot, it takes around 3 clicks and done, by the way .. the screenshot made with this tool does not lose that much quality compared with PrintScreen on the keyboard.

By the way, this is the "Creations" section of the forum, where you post what you make (obiously when it's related with programming) not the critics section. =O

Since when did PrtScn lose any quality at all? You might be just saving it with JPEG, which is your fault, not PrtScn's.

Don't diss the PrtScn.

I actually think this forum is meant mostly for DM programming :P

That seems to somewhat beat the purpose of making a screenshot taking tool. Most worthwhile ones take only one keypress to save a screenshot, which is the whole point of using them instead of Print Screen->copy to Paint->save.

the screenshot made with this tool does not lose that much quality compared with PrintScreen on the keyboard.

The Other Kaio covered this. What you said here is false.

Oh, by the way, allow me to enlighten you further: ;)

this is the "Creations" section of the forum, where you post what you make (obiously when it's related with programming)

Actually, you've missed 2 obvious things in your post. First, the Creations section is in the "Game Development" category, and so is really for BYOND creations. Off topic stuff should ideally go in the sections in the "Off Topic" category.

not the critics section. =O

Another obvious thing you miss. There isn't a critics section nor a need for one. Whenever you post something publicly, you should expect it to be criticized. That's very natural and goes without saying. If you can't take it being criticized, the general guideline is "then don't publish it at all". But of course, you can avoid communication with people by publishing it somewhere where the public can't reply or comment. Might as well not give any contact options, either, or you might unexpectedly still get criticized! (oh noes)

Lastly, I wish I had your optimism, but don't expect to make money with this Screen Capture Tool. Unfortunately you can't earn money that easily.

Yeah, PrtScn has nothing to do with quality loss at all. It is very likely as Kaiochao stated that you're using certain programs like Microsoft Paint's (XP-Vista, not sure about Windows 7's JPEG saving since I haven't tried that one much) JPEG saving, which does reduce quality, even if you're just drawing a picture.

However, saving the picture as Bitmap (BMP) or even as a PNG will preserve the quality of the image. So, PrtScn resulting in quality reduction statement is false. JPEG saving in certain programs are what reduce the quality, not the PrtScn key.

Creations is meant for BYOND-related development. If you want to share your non-BYOND efforts, you are encouraged to use your member blog (http://www.byond.com/members/dannykenobi) for that.

Good luck! Thread closed.
